This is second time in year 2008 for me landing on Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency after went here at June-July 2008. Totally, this is my 4th time I went to this place. This day I’m using Skyland Air (Premi Air) fleet.
Yahukimo Regency is located in central of Papua, South of Jayawijaya Regency, and west of Pegunungan Bintang Regency that I just visited last week. The GPS coordinate of Regent Office is 4.8598S, 139.4887E.
Not like other Regencies in central Papua, Yahukimo is very hot. The temperature is about 27-45 Celcius Degree in average. It because Dekai Distric -it’s principal- located at low altitude terrain about 136m above sea level (based on my GPS). The transportaion beside using airplane is using river boat, it’s take about 7 days to reach yahukimo from Timika and/or Merauke using river transportation.
Wow Pare… Bigat!! Very hot!! I need Ice Tea and faster electric fan. Or maybe can swim in the river, because river in here (Blue River-Kali Biru) is very natural and clean.

True, i have been in Dekai,from Februari till April 2008, it’s very hot, in indoor also.And no electricity, so, very very hot. And the malaria is the most verocious one in Papua. I got out of there without catching any, tough, he he he.

hemmm,
aku ke dekai sekitar tahun 2002 atau 2003 an.
hanya satu minggu lewat wamena pakai pesawat MAF, waktu itu gencar2nya pengembangan wilayah.
kangen juga neh ama yahukimo….
sudah kayak apa yah sekarang?

hm,,rencananya mo ke yahukimo ni juni depan..mo tinggal kira2 6 bulan disana,,(dalam rangka PTT)
kudu bawa barang apaan aja ya..bingung!!
sabun,shampoo dll bawa banyak2 kali ya,,apapun biar ga beli disana gt..kan mahal2 disana..ato lebih mahal kalo kelebihan bagasi ya,,hihihi..
kelambu,pelampung,..apa lagi ya..
mohoon sarannya yaa..=)
